Dr Shengheng Liu

Biography: 

Dr. Shengheng Liu is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Agile Tomography Group, Institute for Digital Communications, School of Engineering, The University of Edinburgh, UK. Prior to joining UoE, he obtained the BEng and PhD in Electronics Engineering from the School of Information and Electronics, Beijing Institute of Technology, China, in 2010 and 2017 respectively. His PhD thesis mainly focused on sparse discrete fractional Fourier transform and its applications to detection, with a particular focus on passive bistatic radar detection. He also worked as a Visiting Research Associate from 2015 to 2016 at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, USA, developing time-frequency analysis algorithms for non-stationary signals based on sparse Bayesian learning, under the support of the China Scholarship Council. His research interests include time-frequency analysis for non-stationary signals, interference cancellation and coherent integration algorithms for passive bistatic radars, as well as image reconstruction algorithms for electrical impedance tomography. He is frequently a reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, IEEE Transactions on Audio, Speech and Language ProcessingIEEE Signal Processing Letter, Electronics Letters, and Signal Processing.
