Nice to see you again in the first month of Semester 3 (Well, only for postgraduates).
The university this month is a little bit deserted. The undergraduates are all leaving, and the library is almost empty. Do you remember the experience when you couldn't find a seat after 9 a.m. in the exam week? I saw many students guiding their parents around the city and university this month, and of course attending the summer graduation ceremony. I think parents will feel very proud when seeing their children standing in front of people and being honoured. I also attended the degree show at the Edinburgh College of Art. The products, or let’s say - the artworks - are impressive. I could not have imagined that our fellow university students could design and build such a good product. Although as an engineer, I don’t think all the design can be perfectly built in practice, this is still very gorgeous. Some designs are cooperatively made by a group of students, which is different from our personal dissertations. I am not saying which one is better, but I really like the constructive products even if they are designed by a group.
The other thing I want to mention is, of course, the UK Election. To be honest, I am not quite familiar with the election process and the policy in UK, but the arguments and presentations are quite intense. Different parties were all ‘fighting’ for the voting, which is very new and impressive for me.
Finally, I wish every undergraduate can have good marks, and graduate favorably!
