Wheels of Change (WoC)

Wheels of Change seeks to radically improve both the quality of life and the life chances of young wheelchair-users by developing a wheelchair for disabled children that is technologically impressive, modular, and affordable. This talk will present work on developing sensor capabilities that will enhance the wellbeing and user experience of the wheelchair occupant and others that will monitor the condition and situation of the wheelchair.

After Hours Club (AHC)

The aim of the AHC is to make available electronics kit, labs, and (some!) expertise to staff & students, to enable them to work on their own electronics projects. Our focus is embedded electronics (such as microcontrollers, Arduinos, Raspberry Pi’s, etc.), but we are interested in all things hobby electronics, as well as 3D printing. The past year we changed the format to virtual and streamed themed sessions, focusing on building a robotic arm. This talk will give an overview of the club’s activities and present future plans and aims.
