A three year postdoctoral appointment is available in the Li-Fi Research and Development Centre.
The Li-Fi Research and Development Centre undertakes research and development in Optical Wireless Communications and is currently involved in a number of both ESPRC and industry projects.
We are looking for a highly qualified postgraduate analogue engineer and researcher with a research and development background, excellent skills and performance in the field of digital design, and with an innate curiosity to undertake research and development in the field of Optical Wireless Communications systems.
The successful applicant will undertake research and development of prototypes and products to Technology Readiness Level 7. He or she work closely with other researchers and senior academics at the Li-Fi Research and Development Centre, and with external partners.
You should have (or been due to submit soon) a PhD Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering/Physics, or equivalent industrial experience in digital electronics for communications, or be able to demonstrate equivalent research and development experience. You must have relevant experience in analogue PCB circuit design and validation for communication systems, and experience in analogue circuit modelling and simulation.
The post is expected to start in March 2015 for a duration of three years, and will be supervised by Professor Harald Haas, and day to day by the Li-Fi Experimental Officer.
