We are investing to strengthen our Mechanical Engineering discipline by appointment of a Senior Lecturer/Reader in Composites Manufacturing.
The composite materials group conducts research in design/testing of composites, and in manufacturing, particularly in thermoplastic and novel thermosetting polymer composites and plastics. The research targets the renewable energy and automotive sectors, inter alia, and has competitive funding from leading material suppliers and end-users.
The successful candidate will be internationally prominent in research and development in composite materials (academia or industry). They will lead related research within the School, winning substantial external funding. They will be an excellent communicator and able to teach engineering at the highest level, in materials engineering, manufacture or other suitable Mechanical Engineering topics.
The level of appointment (Senior Lecturer or Reader) will be determined by the selection panel.
