Best Systems Paper Award IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS)

Professor Harald Haas, Chair of Mobile Communications and Director of the Li-Fi Research and Development Centre at the University of Edinburgh and co author Dr Marco Di Renzo, researcher with Laboratory of Signals and Systems (L2S) have been awarded the Jack Neubauer Memorial Award for the best systems paper by the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS).

The paper “Bit Error Probability of SM-MIMO Over Generalized Fading Channels” was published in the journal, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology in 2012.

The award-winning paper provides a complete evaluation and analysis of spatial modulation, and gives a detailed insight into spatial modulation and its advantages over current state-of-the art techniques.

The Jack Neubauer Memorial Award gives recognition of the high quality and unique research being undertaken in systems design.

The award will be presented at the IEEE VTC Fall Conference in Boston on 8 September 2015.
