Harald Haas and John Thompson listed as Highly Cited Researchers by Thomson Reuters

Prof Harald Haas and Prof John Thompson, both members of the Institute for Digital Communications at the School of Engineering, have been listed by Thomson Reuters as Highly Cited Researchers in 2017:

This list recognises researchers who have achieved publications ranking in the top 1% for paper citations in their research field. This ranking recognises Prof Haas' world leading research in wireless spatial modulation and visible light communications (Lifi). Prof Thompson has made significant contributions in the areas of multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communications and energy efficient/green communications, and has been listed as a highly cited researcher by Thomson Reuters in 2015, 16 and 17.

Prof Haas has also been elevated to Fellow member of the IEEE in 2018 to recognise his leadership in the design of visible-light and wireless communication systems:

This membership class is restricted to 0.1% of the total membership each year and recognises outstanding contributions to the field of Electronics and Electrical Engineering.
