Maja Persson is a first year PhD student focusing on Hydrogen Energy Systems for local energy storage and services . An industrial PhD with Bright Green Hydrogen working with Dr Dimitri Mignard (academic) and David Hogg (industrial) as her main supervisors. The immediate objective of the project is to create a blueprint for a low/zero carbon business park, using information from The Hydrogen Office, a demostration of hydrogen energy storage for intermittent renewables and research hub.
Maja Persson has a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems, where her thesis focused on carrying out a feasibility study of an idea for a Self-Embedding and Self-Removing Sand Anchor for Wave Enery Converters.
Before starting her PhD, Maja Persson spent two and a half years at a Fortune 500 company, working in two of their locations, Leiden (Netherlands) and Newcastle-Upon-Tyne (UK). Her time in industry lead to experience in procurement, operations leadership, Lean/Six Sigma, solvent safety and energy monitoring systems in manufacturing.
Key interests outside of work are skiing, running, hiking and painting
