Biography:
Ilias Gavriilidis is a Ph.D student at the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, under the supervision of Prof Spyros A. Karamanos and Dr Yuner Huang. Ilias obtained his 5-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Thessaly, Greece (2016), focusing on subjects related to Structural Engineering. His thesis focused on the modal identification of mechanical systems under earthquake induced vibrations.
Ilias' PhD project focuses on the investigation of pressurized and non-pressurized lined pipes under monotonic and cyclic bending, simulating the reeling installation method.
