May arrived and the exams and long all-study days have come. A lot of stress and complaints about a stupid way to judge a person’s academic knowledge (at least in my opinion) later and I’ve finished the (hopefully) last exam of my life. Now I’ll wait for about a month until a receive a little number which will decide my future and pray that the professors are in a good mood correcting my papers. I’m hoping for distinction, but I think it will be very close.
We played the BUCS cup futsal finals in London in the Copperbox Arena (which was also an Olympic venue). Unfortunately, we had a heartbreaking loss in the penalties, after conceding 2 goals in the last minute to allow a tie in regular time. Very unsatisfying way to finish the cup, but it was a great experience for the club, considering it was created 2 years ago and we have no coaches or training whatsoever.
Also had another bad experience this month: I missed my flight back to Brazil. I had to fly from London and I was supposed to take a train from Edinburgh and arrive at the airport 2h early. A very misfortunate timing of some problem with power lines delayed my departure from Edinburgh by 1h and I arrived only 1h early for the flight, so the bag check in was closed and I couldn’t go with my 3 bags. Lost a day, some money and had to take a 9h bus back to Edinburgh.
Now I’m just trying to relax and enjoy Edinburgh’s “summer”. I can count in my hand how many days over 20°C we had here, but it is better than winter definitely. The problem is the wind and the possibility of rain at all times, you always need a coat and going out with short sleeves may leave you either cold or wet. I’m missing home a bit, never stayed this long outside of my city. But I have dissertation to tackle soon, so I’ll try to relax while I can.
I’ll leave you with some pictures of the finals and the alpaca stressbuster the university offered in between the exams, see you next month!
