    The New Year started really well until I got knocked out by the winter bug. It started with a sore throat, fever, vomiting, diarrhoea then flu. I had never been this ill before and it was debilitating! I am slowly recovering as I write and I am glad I feel a lot better!

    Celebrating holidays with family is a luxury denied to many. I can’t remember how many times I had to spend holidays away from home during my undergraduate days in Malaysia. But I remember each time I would feel sad and lonely. Fortunately I wasn’t completely alone.

    This Month was just for fun. Thanks for the university policy, all my exams finished before the Christmas holiday, which means we will have a totally free one-month holiday.

    It would be a good idea to travel around Europe with classmates departing from Edinburgh.

    My first term here has just ended. It has been great even if I had struggled a lot. I learned many new things about the field I am studying now which is renewable energy and many other things that are not related to my study. Here is the list of the things I have learned in the past 3 months:
