A postdoctoral research associate position is available in School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh to work in collaboration with three other research associates on a project funded by EPSRC (EP/N024672/1) to develop a compact CO2 capture process to combat industrial emissions. The project will involve the development of a microwave assisted CO2 capture process using solvents. The PDRA will contribute to this project by studying molecular dynamics simulations of the interaction of microwaves with amine solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues working on the development of a new experimental rig and process models.
A 30 month fixed term postdoctoral post is available within the Institute for Materials and Process at the University of Edinburgh to work on Horizon2020-funded collaborative project in the field of membrane separations for carbon capture.
A 3 year fixed term post is available in the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh to work on the EPSRC funded project on Cation-Controlled Gating for Selective Gas Adsorption over Adaptable Zeolites.
Dr Dimitrios I. Gerogiorgis, a lecturer in Chemical Engineering at the Institute for Materials and Processes (IMP) of the University of Edinburgh, has been awarded the Academy of Athens Loukas Moussoulos Research Publication Excellence Prize, in recognition of his paper entitled "Model-based sensitivity analysis and experimental investigation of perlite grain expansion in a vertical electrical furnace" (Ind. Eng. Chem. Res., 2013), a publication he co-authored while at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece
