This project is aimed to develop a novel process for producing ultrapure hydrogen from synthesis gas originating from coal gasification. The coal-to-H2 process is integrated with a pre-combustion carbon capture process for de-carbonising the syngas and the integration results in improving H2 yield at the H2 Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA).
Scientists from the Scottish Carbon Capture and Storage (SCCS) research partnership have competitively won a 20% share of a £2.57 million funding pot to carry out targeted research that will support the commercial deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS) in the UK.
Dr Jiabin Jia obtained his BEng (2002) in Electronics Engineering and MSc (2005) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Wuhan University, China. After worked one year in the Hardware R&D department of H3C Technology Co.
My research to date has focused on environmental issues with the development of new materials to improve existing processes (reduced energy costs, alternative to petroleum derivatives) in partnership with industry and academia.
