Researchers from the School of Engineering have been awarded a £1.4M grant from the Global Challenges Research Fund. This will fund an innovative research project to reduce the impact of fire hazards on informal settlements.
Dr Rory Hadden, Rushbrook Lecturer in Fire Investigation at the School of Engineering, was invited to speak on the Jeremy Vine Show on Wednesday 24 April.
Dr Angus Law is a Lecturer in Fire Safety Engineering; he has previous held positions as a Lecturer at the Univeristy of Queensland (Australia), and as an Engineer at Ove Arup and Partners (UK).
Many congratulations to Edinburgh PhD graduate Dr Barbara Lane, Technology Group Leader at Arup and Visiting Professor of Fire Safety Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, on her election as Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng).
