The materials and structures research theme encompasses the development of novel materials and their integration with electronics to make smart sensors and systems.
This equipment and the research staff are located in the Scottish Microelectronics Centre (SMC), a purpose built facility at the University's Science and Engineering campus at King's Buildings.
The SMC provides extensive cleanroom facilities with a full semiconductor/MEMS fabrication toolset and the ability to host staff from external organisations.
