Research in Civil and Environmental Engineering

Much of the Civil and Environmental Engineering related research is undertaken by members in the Institute for Infrastructure and Environment within the School of Engineering

Institute for Infrastructure and Environment

The Institute for Infrastructure and Environment joins researchers from the Civil Engineering Discipline. The Institute has several research groups that undertake a remarkable range of research topics within the Infrastructure, Environment and Civil Engineering fields, with a focus on interdisciplinary and emerging areas. IIE also encompasses the research into Fire Safety Engineering which has many reaches within the home, workplace and infrastructure of a country. Specific areas of research include: Structural Behaviour in Fire, Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering and Underwater Structures.
