The late Professor Jason Reese founded and nurtured the Multiscale Fluid Mechanics Group within the Institute for Multiscale Thermofluids (IMT) in the School of Engineering. The successful candidate will be an internationally prominent researcher in Multiscale Fluid Mechanics who will provide leadership for the group, maintain its momentum and realise the full potential of the area for the Institute, School and wider University. The successful candidate will have a record of winning substantial external research funding and will be in a position to make a strong application for the next round of the Royal Academy of Engineering Chairs in Emerging Technologies, expected to open in October 2019. These Chairs are worth up to £2.8 million over 10 years. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of Mechanical Engineering degree programmes.

The post is full-time and open-ended and the salary is on the Professorial scale.
