Two postdoctoral research associate positions for 24 months in the first instance are available to work with Professor Mike Davies and his team on the ERC Advanced grant project, C-SENSE (Exploiting Low Dimensional Models in Sensing, Computation and Processing). This project aims to make theoretical and algorithmic advances in the use of low dimensional data models for sensing, signal processing and machine learning to reduce computational, storage and acquisition costs.
The post holders will develop a framework to exploit novel compact representations of signals and data and explore the theoretical and algorithmic interplay between signal structure, computational cost and statistical accuracy.
Successful candidates will enjoy a dynamic and inspiring environment, as part of Prof Davies’ research group focusing on exploiting structure for signal processing and machine learning. The group is based in the internationally renowned Institute for Digital Communications (IDCOM) at the University of Edinburgh
ERC Advanced Grants are awarded to top researchers in Europe to enable them to follow their best ideas and make a real difference in science and beyond.
