  • Third year mechanical engineering student Yashas Raj has won the Outstanding Contribution category in this year’s Student Awards. Yashas won the Award for his work founding and leading STEM outreach student society Hands-On! after being nominated by fellow students in the Edinburgh University Students Association Awards.

  • School of Engineering PhD student Daisy Dickinson was recently named a finalist in STEM for Britain – a prestigious scientific poster competition and exhibition held each year at the Houses of Parliament.

  • Two engineering students were winners in this year's Edinburgh Global photography competition. Maitha Qassim (first year, chemical engineering) won the 'campus' category with a reflective image of Old College, while PhD student Rui Zhang (Institute for Integrated Micro and Nano Systems) won second place overall for a striking shot of a pedestrian crossing a snowy street.
