School of Engineering receives Athena SWAN Bronze Award

The School of Engineering was delighted to receive an Athena SWAN bronze award in the most recent assessment round. Dr Katherine Cameron and Prof Ian Underwood led the team that put together the School’s submission and collected the award at the ceremony in November 2013 at Imperial College.

The Athena SWAN Awards recognise success in developing employment practices to further and support the careers of women in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) departments in higher education. More details on the Athena SWAN charter can be found here.

The Athena Swan Charter

The Athena SWAN Charter relates to a specific part of the broader Equality and Diversity agenda - namely, good employment practice for women working in science, engineering and technology (SET) in higher education and research.
