Biography:

I am a PhD student at the School of Engineering working with Dr. Timm Krüger. My research work focuses on mesoscopic simulations (using lattice Boltzmann method) of cellular blood flow in the microcirculation system, with a particular interest in developmental retinal angiogenesis (growth and remodelling of blood vessels). I also collaborate with materials scientists to develop bio-inspired microswimmers for minimally-invasive biomedical applications aimed at future medicine.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Master of Philosophy, The University of Hong Kong (HKU)
  • Bachelor of Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST)

Professional Qualifications and Memberships:

  • Member of British Society of Rheology (BSR)
  • Member of American Physical Society (APS)
  • Member of American Chemical Society (ACS)
  • Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)

Teaching:

  • Plant Engineering Lab 2 (2016-2017; 2017-2018)
  • Fluid Mechanics Laboratory (2011-2012; 2012-2013)

Research Interests:

fluid dynamics, computational biophysics and bio-inspired microswimmers
