Biography:
Joseph Burchell graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering with Renewable Energy. He returned to the School of Engineering, Institute for Energy Systems to undertake his PhD in Superconducting Machines for Direct Drive Offshore Wind Turbines. During his PhD studies he has worked on the structural integrety of Direct Drive Generators and Drive Trains, Harmonic Loading of Wind Turbines and Installation and operation of Superconducting Machines within extreme environments.
He is currently working within the Institute for Energy Systems as a Research Associate undertaking a Wave Energy Scotland Project.
